Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousnesses? And what communion does light have with darkness? . . . Therefore come out from among them and be separated

2 Corinthians 6:14, 17

Keep Purity of Faith

If, as a child of God, one wishes to keep the purity of one's faith permanently, one should withdraw oneself in holy solitude in order to avoid the sin and impurity of this-worldly human contacts as far as possible. In contrast, one will no longer be a child of God, if one endeavor to enlarge of one's scope of social intercourse, to increase of one's own power by means of worldly powers, to seek one's friends among the unbelievers, and to get tied up with the notables of the world. The one is like the salt lost its flavor and will be cast out by both God and humans. Children of God should keep themselves in holy seclusion. Remember that the great fall of human started with the error of the children of God in the intercourse with humans.

03/21

You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by humans.

Matthew 5:13

Salt of Earth

Earthly life is fast to deteriorate. Its freshness is short and its liveliness is temporary. Life on earth gets rotten in an instant and hardened without waiting. Here is the necessity for salt. To preserve the existing virtues, to enhance their fairness and thereby to encourage goodness of the earth, something is needed. This need on earth is to be filled by Christians who hold God's living words in their hearts and souls. By Christians indeed, all the virtues even outside of the gospel, yea, all the good outside of the faith, shall be maintained, purified and wide-spread. This is an indisputable fact. The old ethics and old faiths are thus, in a true sense, revived by the gospel of Christ.

03/22

And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep the commandments of the LORD, and His statutes, which I command you today for your good?

Deuteronomy 10:12-13

Live with God

When my heart feels devoid of love, I have to realize God does not abide in my heart. When my heart fears, I have to realize God does not live with me. When I lack true perception, being unable to appreciate the universe and life, I have to realize my eyes are shut to God. When I feel joyless, powerless, hopeless and as if trudging heavily laden, I have to realize I am walking alone apart from God. This is not only in my own case but in nations and societies as well, no living virtue and no burning hope can exist if they do not live with God and keep afar from God. Thus, to live with God is primary importance, not only to myself but also to my fellow nation.

03/23

When I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent Me.

John 8:16

Power of Independence

Independence should not necessarily mean refusal of others' aid, but full practice of all innate power of one's own. A human being is a miniature universe. Within oneself one can find an almost limitless store of power. When this power is fully utilized, one will be able not only to fulfil one's righteous demand but also to willingly help others to an extent more than needed. In contrast, relying on others comes from ignorance of one's own power and makes a person weak. We become want by relying on others. Dependence is not just a weakness but a sin. Independence is not only a virtue but an imperative duty.

03/24

You know the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.

1 John 4: 2

Three Great Truths

The first great truth is that God is not just Power but Love, a Loving Father. The whole universe wears a different appearance when viewed with faith in the Father of Love. The second great truth is that Jesus Christ is not a man, not even the greatest man, but God himself. Peace that passes all understandings is ours when we come to believe in the divinity of Jesus. The third great truth is that the Holy Spirit is not an influence, but a person. Faith becomes real, and true freedom is won only when we realize the Personality of the Holy Spirit.

03/25

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

New Every Morning

The Lord's mercies are new day by day. Especially they are fresh every morning. The best thought comes in the morning; the loveliest song tunes in the morning; finches will sing aloud in the morning; and Jesus resurrected in the morning. The earth, in fact, dies every night and resurrects every morning. God abides with us always, but particularly teaches us in the morning. We should therefore preserve especially the morning thoughts. Neither should we miss the morning whispers. "They are new every morning." Yea, the old gospel, like the old earth, is new every morning. And our joy reaches its zenith in the morning of resurrection.

03/26

Jesus says to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you do not have life in you. Whoever partakes of My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:53-54

Power of Christ

Jesus Christ said: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth" (Matthew 28:18). This Christ, who had the experience of reviving a dead man while on earth, who performed various miracles, who proved to be the greatest historical power in elevating humanity, who caused an otherwise impossible moral change in the hearts of us, "the believers in Him, who is son of God, King of humans, Savior of us." This Lord Jesus Christ resurrects the dead. Not Peter, nor Paul, nor John is to do this miracle. God's Son, Jesus Christ, who said "I am the life and the resurrection" (John 11:25), will do this. There is nothing mysterious about it.

03/27

But I commanded them this thing, saying, Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people; and walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that it may be well with you.

Jeremiah 7:23

Walk with God

"Walk" means "walk quietly," and not to fly, run, but to walk. It is not to attempt a great leap, a wild dash, or a crazy expulsion but to rely patiently on God and to spend daily life quietly according to His will. Not to attempt a great enterprise, a marvellous missionary work, nor to try to exhibit a wonderful miracle; but to live a life apparently of no worldly significance, merely and simply honoring God's command, following His word, and believing that his life-work is to be faithful to God. The greater part of a life of faith is patience, quietness and hope. A living in and with God is a life asking for nothing else and self-sufficient with what God Himself has given.

03/28

In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity.

Jeremiah 31:29-30

New Generations

A human is born into the world as an entirely new creature. He or she gets nothing of moral inheritance from his or her ancestors. An evil father may beget a good man, a feeble mother may give birth to a stout child. God renews His work with each and every individual. Nobody need be afraid of the stains of his inheritance. Everyone is directly created by God like Adam and Eve. Along with the cry of the newborn baby, the voice for new creature is raised aloud. Hope is pressing on to the world minute by minute why not keep aloof from fear of accumulate corruptions.

03/29

He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1: 6

Ongoing Salvation

Anyone who scorns of the imperfection of creatures, gets angry as the many imperfections of a believer, slanders God, ridicules Christians, rejects or abandons the gospel, only sees God's work halfway, not desiring to view it in its completion. Salvation started, but has not been finished yet; it is on the way to perfection. When completed, it will be "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of human" (1 Corinthians 2: 9). We should therefore wait. Believers should wait to see themselves completed.
