In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1: 1

Creation of Universe

A Christian's whole concept of the universe and human life centers around this short verse. The universe, vast and unfathomable, is a creation of God. Hence, its change and modification, or its suspended or anticipated movement, should be at His will. God my Father made the universe. This is my Father's garden, wherein I live with nothing to fear. Let me leave this country for another; there is He. Let me leave the earth for Jupiter or Mercury; there He surely is. God abides in the Orion, in the Pleiades. Even in another universe, apart from this, there my Father should be as well. With God, as His child, renders the universe a paradise for me. There, let me praise His wonderful work singing His glory, and die with a sure hope that His hands would receive me to lead me into a new world and a new Jerusalem, to praise His Holy Name eternally.

Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God shall destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which you are.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Creation of Human Beings

"God created human in his own image" (Genesis 1: 27). If the universe is the substance of God, is human body made of the universe? Then, if human is fashioned after the universe, does it not follow that human externally too, represents God's image? This is not to humanize God, but to elevate human standards to the height appropriately granted by God. "Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own" (1 Corinthians 6:19). Human looks upon one's body with contempt, as mere flesh similar to animals, and does not know how precious and holy it is. When one defiles one's body, one defiles God's holy image. Are not our bodies the holy temple, made after His supreme image? Holy Jehovah, Lord of Hosts.

First Dream

Dew of grace dropped on the top of Mt. Fuji,
trickled down to its foot and flowed over into two streams
one eastward and the other westward.
The westward crossed the sea,
washed the Mt. Paektu, soaked the Kunluns,
watered the foot of the Tien Shan also of the Himalayas,
and ended in the wilderness of Judea.
The eastward crossed the ocean,
quenched the fire of gold-worship as the foot of the Rockies,
purified the Holy of Holies
on the banks of the Mississippi and the Hudson,
and submerged into the Atlantic.
Peaks of the Alps carolled with the morning star to see it;
the Sahara desert rejoiced to bloom like the saffron.
Like water covering the ocean,
the knowledge of Jehovah filled the whole earth,
and the nations of this world became the Nation of Christ.
Awakened from this dream,
I cried aloud solitarily,
"Amen. Thus be it.
You will be done on earth as in Heaven."

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.

Matthew 2: 1

Birth of Savior

God opened the way of salvation for human beings by sending His Son to be born in a manger where cattle and sheep feed, on a hill at Bethlehem, when legions in millions defended the borders while Caesar enjoyed a feast in the palace, proudly honoring his power and status. This is the usual way of great chances in the world. While the known world looks to an emperor and his armed forces for its realization, God sends a poor infant child to a stable to precede in a new era. Great chance is again clamored for. Let us now instead follow the wise men of the East and proceed direct to Bethlehem, rather than Rome, in search of our Savior.

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Romans 14:23

Cause of Evil

If goodness is following to God, evil must be leaving of God. Stealing, murder or adultery is sin not by itself, but by the result of leaving God. When I am condemned by law for murder, I am called upon not for violation of the homicide law itself but for leaving my God. I cannot commit a crime, whatever tempted, or cannot even cherish an idea of sin, as long as God abides within me and I with Him. Defectiveness, contempt of others, desiring lust, arrogance, and neglecting my neighbors, all these spring from leaving God. Consequently, I shall be able to do good if I only return to God. This indeed must be the only way to avoid sin.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth; I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Matthew 10:34

Road of Christian

Whoever comes to Christ for being Christianized will surely come to abandon Him. Also, whoever comes to Christ for a raw thought or for a wider social intercourse will likewise come to abandon Him. Only those who are relived of their sins and come to Him for saving of their souls will be able to remain with Him eternally. Anyone who approaches Christ aesthetically or philosophically or socially will find no other way but to depart from Him eventually. The would-be Christians must be aware of this reality.

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.

1 Thessalonians 1: 3

God, Resurrection and Christ

To believe in God's faithfulness is our faith. To wait for the resurrection, the everlasting life and the approaching Nation of God is our hope. To imitate the love of God, embodied by Christ who was crucified to die, but who rose again to eternal life is our love. Yea, these three can alone conquer the world.

01/08

We have known and believed the love that God has in us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:16

God is Love

God is love. Love is the greatest gift that God can give us. God may not necessarily give us power. He did not give it to Jesus. God did not grant upon His beloved Son the power to call down many of angels from heaven to destroy the enemies who ridiculed and mocked Him. He did not open His mouth, humbling Himself even amid torture. Like a lamb drawn for slaughtering, like a sheep dumb before the shearer, He did not open His mouth. But then God gave Jesus of profound love, which led Him to cry from on the cross "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do" (Luke 23:34). Jesus, on the cross, could not even avail Himself of the power to save Himself. But He proved to be the Son of God, weak, helpless and possessed with love alone.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where shall my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made Heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.

Psalms 121: 1-3

Help Comes from God

What can be done with this feeble flesh? What also can be done with this sinful society? Reflecting upon this flesh, and depending upon this society, we have but to be disappointed. My help comes from Jehovah who created heaven and the earth. He owns an unfathomable potence. And I can open wide the door of my heart and fill it with His power. He, too, with Holy Spirit, with miracles in heaven and earth, will help my work. With this support, inward and outward, I can alone face the whole world, completely without any fear or anxiety.
