Paul, an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father.

Galatians 1: 1

By Will of God

"Paul, an apostle by the will of God," (1 Corinthians 1: 1) not by his own choice, not by his resolution, and not by his speculative study of Christian truth, but solely by the will of God, by His sovereign grace, by His election, "foreordained before the foundation of the world" (1 Peter 1:20). So is every Christian "born, not of blood, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:13). He is not "Christianized" by missionaries, but is pressed by the all conquering, all-compelling will of God into His Nation and its service. Oh, the sovereign will of God, stronger than my will, than my sin even. Nothing else made me a Christian; nothing else keeps me in the faith; nothing else will save me at last. "Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift" (2 Corinthians 9:15).

Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name, make known His deeds among the people. Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him, talk of all His wondrous works. Glory in His holy name, let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

1 Chronicles 16: 8-10

End of Year

This year is leaving, and another year is coming. Thank God for many a good thing of this year, and for evils likewise. Thank God for each and every thing. God's will was done; His glory was raised. My life is not for me, but for God and for accomplishing His will. God is my Lord and I am His servant. A servant is happy and satisfied to sacrifice oneself, only to see Lord's work well done. God propels His work year-in and year-out unceasingly. This year has also seen a progress of the accomplishment of His will with magnified glory. Here is my thanksgiving, even beyond the questions of my sufferings or losses. More so, when I recall the many blessings granted upon me.
