All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for teaching, for lesson, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

2 Timothy 3:16

Return to Bible

Autumn has come. I will come back to the Bible. To the Bible that is of heaven and not of the world. To the Bible that pertains to the spirit and not to the flesh. To the Bible that is for the whole of humanity and not for the church alone. And with a spirit of freedom I will return to it. With an attitude of a seeker after the truth I will return to it. And I will make a step forward in understanding God, liberty, and everlasting life.

Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain; my speech shall drop down as the dew, as the small rain on the tender plant, and as the showers on the grass;

Deuteronomy 32: 1-2

Silence

Silence prevails in the nature. Silence abides in the Bible. When a lonely flower drops its head, laden with the weighty dew, I am comforted. By a verse of the Holy Scripture, turmoils of my internal affliction become silent. When a great sensation angers around, I find solace in little flowers, and calm in the old Bible.

10/03

We have known the love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

1 John 3:16

Miracle of Love

Human is saved by faith, and not by deed. Salvation comes by faith in the unbounded love of God. It is easy to reason that God saves the righteous. But it is the miracle that God reconciled Himself to sinners, cleansed their sins and made them His children. This love far exceeds what we can conceive, and is what we feel most incredible. Hard to believe is not physical miracles such as turning water into wine or resurrecting the dead into living, but the miracle of love which takes sins away from sinners, does not condemn and gives them a pure heart instead. This is the love of God; and we are saved by believing in this Love. The Gospels describe this Love. Christians believe in this Love. Our peace rests in this Love. We are safe in this Love. I firmly believe in this Love of God in pursuit for a child of God.

10/04

Let each one remain in the calling in which one was called. Were you called as a slave? It does not matter to you, but if you are able to become free, use it rather. For he who is called a slave in the Lord is a freed man of the Lord. And likewise, he who is called a free man is a slave of Christ. You are bought with a price, do not be the slaves of men.

1 Corinthians 7:20-24

Stay Your Vocation

Stay your vocation. Do not change it by yourself, but walk with God. This is not determinism, but the way to live in this world, where the ideal is hardly realized and unrighteousnesses is its nature. Do not put yourself on the luck; give yours joyfully if others demand it. Stay with God. Wait the time when God reveals you. Accept the vocation if God calls you to it in this world. God unfailingly calls us to a precious vocation in His holy Nation, therefore we do not seek the fame of this world. We stay a given position in this world and content with knowing and walking with God. We will wait until Christ comes again and gives us a predestined position in other world.

10/05

You shall have no other gods before Me. . . For I the LORD your God am a jealous God.

Exodus 20: 3, 5

Wholehearted Love

God is supreme love. Hence He demands of man and woman an unreserved and unconditional love. This is His rightful demand. We cannot consider anything else as God who does not confront us with such a love. God gave us all creatures. Nothing is owned by us but by God's gift. Thus God demands of us single-minded trust and wholehearted love. Is there any demand more reasonable? Jealous God is another name of the God of Love. We ought to console ourselves with the conviction of the near presence of our God who expects of us such a love.

10/06

Let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no. For whatever is more than these comes from evil.

Matthew 5:37

Yes and No

I like to be positive, and not to be negative. I like always to say Yes, and never to say No. But in this world of self-contradictions, of uncertainties and hazy lights, it is not possible always to say Yes and never to say No. Yes without No amounts to nothing. I must love God and hate Satan. But where very few have courage to say No, my No is very liable to be taken for Nihilism and Anarchism. But I must say No that my Yes may be effective, and God's name be glorified in this indifferent world. In the art of life, as in Rembrandt's pictures, light shines brilliantly only on the background of deep shades.

10/07

We all come into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown adult, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; so that we no longer may be infants, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the dishonesty of humans, in cunning craftiness, to the wiles of deceit. But that you, speaking the truth in love, may in all things grow up to Him who is the Head, even Christ.

Ephesians 4:13-15

Faith and Knowledge

The world has full of misconceptions; but no more deplorable than the separation between faith and knowledge. Faith claims "faith alone"; and knowledge also does itself alone; then both cease to grow and die away. Faith without knowledge turns into superstition whereas knowledge without faith into mere mechanism. 20th century civilization, as it is to say, can be termed as the sad outcome of the separation between faith and knowledge. By the insight from the Bible saying: "What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder" (Matthew 19: 6), I postulate faith as the wife, and knowledge is the husband. Then wife and husband are no longer two, but one body. Man appreciates woman; and woman does man. Separation between man and woman brings about nothing but destruction of life. Faith inspires knowledge, while knowledge clarifies faith. The separation of faith and knowledge collapses a civilization. In the world we have nothing more dreadful than a knowledge without faith and a faith without knowledge.

10/08

I will not drive them (the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite) out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against you. By little and little, I will drive them out from before you, until you be increased, and inherit the land.

Exodus 23:29-30

Perfection and Humbleness

Perfection is the greatest possible attainment of life. But perfection has its dangers. Perfection breeds us pride and self-satisfaction. Imperfection rightly used creates us humble heart of Christ. Because imperfect, we humble ourselves and take our refuge in the Cross of Christ. It must be for this reason that perfection is attained so very slowly in our actual life as God said to the children of Israel through Moses. By little and little the Merciful Father will drive imperfections out from within our hearts, lest by becoming perfect too suddenly, worse character may multiply against us than the imperfections of flesh and mind. So then, in matter of perfection, as in every thing else, may His will be done, and not ours.

10/09

Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

Psalms 119:105

Season of Reading

Autumn affords many a lovely night for reading under lamp light. The first to be read is the Bible. It cherishes eternal gains. By reading the Bible, human becomes youth though aged. Everlasting Spring abides in his heart. By reading the Bible, there never lacks an idea. From my mouth will then flow out a poem, a song and a tune of praise. Reading the Bible enhances quest for knowledge. Unlimited longing for understanding goes after the wider and deeper truth of the universe and humanity. If ever there exists God's word, I think it is the Bible. Books are the best treasures of the human race; and the highest treasure of treasures must be the Bible.
